Utopia and DYstopia.
When looking at Utopia and Dystopia the first thing I thought of was Tomorrowland the movie. After watching the movie again it was very easy to examplain the difference between Utopian and a Dystopian world. There were two different dimanesions, one dimension had a wolrd full of Inventors, engineers and dreamers and the other world had greedy humans, hatred and non believers. You could tell the difference in worlds by the looks of everything, the utopian wolrd was clean and futuristic, while our world/dystopian world was miserable and in a lot of pain.
This movie was a very good example to talk about because of the two different worlds/dimensions, was easy to compare both dimensions since they were utopian and dystopian. But in the movie it shows that technology was both good and bad; in the happy wonderful world technology around them makes people happier but deep behind all the happiness is an invention that is slowly destroying the dystopian world, infact it is what is creating the dystopian world. So what I learnt from this movie is even though technology can make some happy, it can also hurt or change people.
Technology will always improve, or there will always be new amazing inventions being invented every day. But as humans evolve and become more greedy and selfish technology can hard people, for example in this movie the big invention that turned the main world into a dystopian place could tell you when you was going to die, or when the world was going to end. Giving that kind of technology to the whole world would scare the whole population, people wouldn't follow the laws and rules anymore, disaster would break out all around the planet. So from this maybe us as humans need to learn when inventions need to stop being invented. Engineers, designers, dreamers and inventors need to be careful how far they take new ideas.

Elysium
Elysium had a very similar idea, except it was more of a war between the rich and the poor. The rich had all the technology and the poor were working for the rich to make their lives better and happier, the poor were basically the slaves. There was one invention that changed every human on the planet, made everyone more greedy and that was a health machine, this machine could cure and heal anyone with any injurys or diseases. Rich people have these machines in their houses, but on earth (where the poor people live) they have no machines like this.

Health Machine in Elysium
Because of this difference between the poor and the rich I had to write about it in my essay, the way money or technology can turn other humans against each other and even turn the planet into a dystopian world is scary. Other movies I can research for my essay is Wall-E, City of Ember, Back to the Future, and maybe Hunger Games.
Gendered robots.
Since robots are not human and are just metal and electricity then its very hard to give them genders. But if you add a certain look, or even a voice then that changes completely. For example if you look at a robot in a factory then it is very hard to give them a gender, but as soon as you listen to an iPhone or Cortana on Microsoft then they suddenly have a gender.
A film that comes to mind is Ex-Machine and I-Robot, in these films robots have the same form as a humans and also have human like voices. Becuase of these details it makes the viewer see this character as a human more than a robot. Ex-machine did a good example of this, the inventor in this movie tried to create a perfect like human, he invented skin that was similar to human skin, he invented a brain that could think like a human. Even those these details are inventions and not geneticly human, it still feels like they are more human than robots.
In the real world, we see inventors create robots and always give a robot a gender; Siri is female and so is Cortana, and some Japanese human form robots are male. Even though the voice has a gender I still don't think that robots will have genders, for example Siri's voice is actually a human voice, its just a robot playing the voice of a human, its not actually the robots voice.

Ex-machine robot looks female due to facial looks, the voice in the film is also female, her body shape is also very feminine.

Robots in a factory don't show a certain gender, they don't always have voices meaning you can't tell by the voice if its male or female, they also have no human like features.
