the brief.
We would like you to make six one-minute manifesto style statements, presented as GIFs over the next two weeks.
manifesto's.
The definition of a Manifesto is a declaration of one’s beliefs, opinions, motives, and intentions. It is simply a document that an organisation or person writes that declares what is important to them.
Before deciding how I would make the GIF’s I had to think of a manifesto to base my GIFs around.

After doing a brainstorm on Manifesto's I thought about Climate Change and how important it is recently and its one of the only subjects that gets me inspired to make a difference. I recently watched a documentary by Leonardo DiCaprio about Climate Change called 'Before The Flood'. He talks about everything that causes pollution and that destroys the planet, and if we don't act now then we may ruin this planet for our children.
Oil rigs cause a lot of pollution in the air when they release methane gases, they also cause a lot of damage to wildlife around the area. Oil and gas drilling on land will cut off certain areas of land, pushing animals out of their homes and habitats because of noise pollution, traffic and fences.
- Oil spills on land and offshore drilling damages animals' organs such as liver, kidney, spleen or brain.
- Cause cancer, immune system suppression and lead to reproductive failure.
- Further injured or disturb animals due to response activities and long-term ecological changes.
Landscape changes from well pads and roads, which strips the environment of vegetation. Increase erosion and the opportunity for weed infestation. Disturbs the land's ground surface.
Oil and gas infrastructures aren't a very good look for locals either, looking at a landscape full of drills isn't the most beautiful thing to look at.
Haze, toxic chemicals and dust pollute the air and water which causes health problems to humans and animals.
Oil and gas drilling also causes a lot of light pollution disrupting scenic views and clear night skies.

GIF RESEARCH.
Chris Philips
Chris Philips is a Creative Director, Animator, Illustrator and Designer from Sydney, Australia. He has 13 year of experience and have designed mobile games, created quirky characters, animated educational, corporate and campaign videos alike and designed websites.
He has worked with many brands like ebay, Intel, IKEA, MTV and many other big companys around the world.
His website - http://www.crispe.net/
One thing I love the most about his designs is that he is very simple, there is not that much detail in each of his drawings and his designs are very clean and easy to look at. The reason his designs are very clean is because he uses one colour for each part of the object/thing that he is drawing, and uses very sharp edges especially in the shading and lighting.
I will create very similar designs to him for my Manifesto gifs, like most GIF artists I will create most of my gifs into a loop. Putting a gif into a loop is a great way of making the viewer watch your gif for longer because there is no sudden stop to the gif. The gif will look like it is never stopping.

There are many GIF designers and Illustraters who have very similar designs to Chris Philips.
Similar Designers:
-James Boorman
-James Curran
-Markus Magnusson
-Shinsuke Matsumoto
-David Stanfield
-Eran Mendel
I don't just want to do all 6 GIF's that are influenced by Chris' work, I want to create different kinds of GIF's. I was also looking at 3D Artists and there are a lot of 3D gifs that have been created. One artist that caught my eye was Carl Burton, he is a 3d modeller that has created some amazing gifs that look beautiful.

Carl Burton
Unfortunately I couldn't find any information about him, but he does have a lot of social media and a website.

What I love the most about his work is all his designs feel like they are from another planet. The fog like look to each of his GIF's gives it a very depth feel to it and the way he only uses one main colour for the image, you never see him use multiple colours in one image, that gives his work a very uniqe and abstract look.
If I was to create my own 3D GIF I would link both Chris and Carl's work up together, and make something that is similar to both of these artists. I would have that atmosphere feel to it but also have that illustration look. One thing that Carl doesn't do with a lot of his gifs is loop them, so when you watch one GIF do its animation then it starts back to the beginning it just puts you off from watching it again.
